Measure your waist at your belly button and your hips at their widest point, then use the chart below. For the Seamless Brief, Saalt suggests considering a size down between sizes; the Comfort CloudShort is listed as true to size.

Take two measurements
- Measure your waist at your belly button, as Saalt’s chart directs. Keep the tape level rather than angling it up at the back.
- Measure around the widest part of your hips. The tape should rest against your body without being pulled tight to create a smaller number.
- Write down both measurements before looking at the size labels. Compare them with the chart as a pair.
If you record centimeters, divide by 2.54 to compare with this inches table. Avoid rounding down simply to fit a preferred size label.
What if your waist and hips point to different sizes?
Do not average the two labels. Keep both measurements and ask Saalt for advice on the specific style before buying a multipack. That is also the better approach when a measurement falls into a gap in the published chart.
For example, a 28-inch waist and 39-inch hips both fall within M. A 28-inch waist and 42-inch hips span M and L. In that case, give Saalt both measurements and the style name rather than choosing from the waist measurement alone.
Between sizes? Check the collection
| Style | Saalt’s fit advice |
|---|---|
| Seamless Brief | Consider sizing down between sizes |
| Comfort CloudShort | True to size |
Do not apply the Seamless suggestion to every Saalt pair. If your waist and hips point to different sizes, resolve that mismatch before sizing down.
Want a higher waistband or more coverage? Choose a different cut rather than using a larger size to change the shape. Our style comparison helps with that choice.
Once you have a size
Keep your waist and hip measurements with the exact style name. If both point to one chart size, use that as your starting point and apply the style’s fit advice. If they disagree, settle that question before ordering multiple pairs.
