Smaller headband

The Pro 2 features, with a smaller band.

Choose Mini for its fit. Shokz directs measurements under 9.25 inches around the back of the head, ear center to ear center, toward Mini; over that measurement, toward Standard.

Gym & everyday listening

OpenFit 2

Physical controls for your workout playlist.

Consider OpenFit 2 for gym sessions if you prefer separate ear-hook earbuds. Physical buttons give you a defined place to press between sets, and up to 11 hours per charge leaves room for listening beyond your workout.

Price-conscious shortlist

OpenRun Pro

Worth a look when the price is right.

The original OpenRun Pro can make sense when its checkout price is meaningfully lower and the dedicated charging cable suits your routine. Decide on the actual saving, rather than a discount badge.

Shorter workouts

OpenFit Air

For the workout, then back in the case.

OpenFit Air is worth considering for shorter workouts if its current price fits your budget. Its rated six hours per charge may cover your session and the journey home; choose OpenFit 2 when longer uninterrupted listening is worth paying more for.

What matters when you train?

Fit comes before the longest feature list

For runs, start with the OpenRun Pro 2 in your measured band size. For gym work, choose OpenFit 2 if you prefer separate ear hooks and physical buttons. Try your usual head turns, glasses and bench position while assessing fit; a design that suits one person may sit differently on another.

Sweat resistance is useful; swimming is a different requirement

The IP55 and IP54 ratings in the table help identify the models’ resistance to sweat and splashes. They do not make these headphones swimming models. Keep the charging cases dry and follow the manufacturer’s care instructions after a workout.

Plan around your whole session

Use the single-charge figure for a long run or an extended gym visit. A case’s total includes time spent recharging, so it cannot extend an uninterrupted workout. For shorter sessions, fit and convenient controls may matter more than extra battery hours.

Are all Shokz headphones bone conduction?

No. OpenRun Pro uses bone conduction; OpenRun Pro 2 combines bone and air conduction. OpenFit 2, OpenFit Air and OpenDots ONE use air conduction. All six are open-ear designs, so choose the shape you want to wear first.

Standard or Mini?

Mini means a smaller headband. Measure from the center of one ear around the back of your head to the center of the other. Shokz directs measurements below 9.25 inches toward Mini and above it toward Standard. At the boundary, use the brand’s sizing guidance before ordering.

When is open-ear the right choice?

When you want to listen with your ear canals unobstructed. If your main priority is blocking out a loud commute, look at noise-isolating or noise-cancelling headphones instead. Open ears do not guarantee you will hear every warning.
